New CITIZEN SATELLITE WAVE -GPS Models
with world’s thinnest*1 watch case and fastest*2 signal reception speed to be launched starting from Fall 2015.
CITIZEN is pleased to announce the launch of new models from SATELLITE WAVE -GPS category*3. All feature the world’s fastest satellite signal reception speed — as fast as 3 seconds.
In 2011, CITIZEN launched Eco-Drive*4 SATELLITE WAVE, the world’s first watch which sync with GPS satellites in space to display accurate time anywhere in the world. Since then, CITIZEN have continued the pursuit of improved sensitivity and faster signal reception speed, holding onto the title of developer of the world’s fastest satellite-synchronised watch. New models launched as SATELLITE WAVE -GPS models in 2015 receive position data in addition to time signals. This allows the watches to recognise the user’s current time zone and automatically update the time and date accordingly.
The enhanced lineups are five new SATELLITE WAVE -GPS (WORLD TIME models) with an elegant, classically simple and intuitive design and two new SATELLITE WAVE -GPS (WORLD TIME MULTIFUNCTION models) which offer various advanced functions, including Dual Time Display and chronograph. Both models feature very fast movement of the hands — taking less than two seconds to move forward one hour (with WORLD TIME MULTIFUNCTION models) — as well as the world’s thinnest watch case (12.5mm for WORLD TIME models and 13.1mm for WORLDTIME MULTIFUNCTION models). These new watches achieve both speedy operation and better wearing comfort. They also deliver accuracy within ±5 seconds per a month even when not receiving time signals from space — the same accuracy as CITIZEN’s highest-quality quartz movement.

Satellite Wave automatically corrects time and date by receiving position data and time signals from GPS satellites
WORLD TIME models receive position data and time signals sent by GPS satellites orbiting 20,000 kilometres above the Earth’s surface. It automatically analyses the time zone where the watch is located at the moment and corrects the time and date accordingly. It takes as fast as 3 seconds to capture only a time signal, and minimum 30 seconds to receive the both position data and time signal.
Easy-to-use World Time with high-speed performance
World Time function covers 40 time zones and instantly changes the time and date with simple step. In addition, WORLD TIME models accommodate different motors for the hour and minute hands, so it takes as fast as one second to correct a one-hour time difference.
Light-Level Indicator to detect the light
A Light-Level Indicator installed on the right side of the dial detects and displays the intensity of light striking the dial (which generates electricity to run the watch) in seven levels, allowing wearers to easily gauge the charge level in any given situation.

*5 Power save function: Automatically stops the hand movement when light is not available to power the watch in darkness. When light is available again, the watch automatically corrects the time and starts working.
*6 Power reserve indicator: Displays the remaining power of the secondary battery used for Eco-Drive.
*7 Perpetual Calendar: Automatically corrects the calendar for leap years until February 28 of 2100.

High-speed twin-coil motor for quick time correction
A twin-coil motor specifically designed for multifunction watches accomplish the high-speed for time correction that matches the speedy reception of time signals from space. It delivers very fast spinning in both normal and reverse rotations (reverse rotation is generally slower than normal rotation). As a result, it takes only two seconds to correct a one-hour time difference.
Easy-to-use Dual Time Display
Dual Time Display not only makes it easy to display the time and date of the current time zone but also makes it possible to show the time in two different world time zones simultaneously. Wearers can easily switch between home time and local time (at 6 o’clock position) through instant and intuitive operation. Forty time zones are available.

World's thinnest Super TitaniumTM watch case: 13.1mm
CITIZEN worked on miniaturising the movement and making world’s thinnest watchcase at 13.1mm. In addition, the case and band material is Super TitaniumTM, CITIZEN’s titanium material made by processing solid titanium and treating CITIZEN proprietary surface hardening technology, Duratect. Super TitaniumTM is resistant to scratches with five times the hardness of stainless steel, lightweight, gentle on the skin and resistant to rust. It maintains luster and beautiful finish for extended periods of time.
