The high-definition MIP display is versatile, expressive and super legible. Tide Mode and Race Mode are both new functions unique to the Wave Tracker which come in addition to a calendar, World Time, chronograph and countdown timer. The LED backlight supports your performance even in low-light conditions.

Tide graphs in one-hour increments show the changing daily tide levels for 203 locations in 88 countries worldwide. Information includes not just the times for high and low tides, but also the moon phase—helpful for predicting spring and neap tides—plus sunrise and sunset times. Though designed primarily for a sailing context, this function is handy when surfing and fishing too.

The timer, which is designed specifically for yacht race scenarios, automatically switches from countdown to count-up. One minute before the start of the race, the seconds display increases in size to reflect the build-up of tension in the last moments before the firing of the starter’s gun.

The dial itself has a simple, stripped-down look because the task of displaying much of the information has been entrusted to the high-definition MIP display. The combination of an easy-to-operate rotating bezel, push buttons, three-dimensional indices and thick, straight hands makes for a highly original sports watch design that is nothing like a diver’s watch.

The bidirectional bezel and inner ring are used to calculate the tacking angle. This helps sailors work out their bearings for sailing relative to the wind direction and is also useful as a reference indicator for the onboard sailing compass.
