Water Resistance

WARNING: Confirm water resistance performance of your watch

Refer to the watch dial and/or the case back for the indication of the water resistance of your watch.
The following chart provides examples of use for reference to ensure that your watch is used properly.

The unit “1 BAR” is roughly equal to 1 atmosphere.
“BAR” may also be represented as “bar”.

“W.R.” may also be represented as “WATER RESIST” or “WATER RESISTANT”.
All the descriptions mean that watches with them have a certain water resistance.

No indication Non water-resistant
Non-water resistant models are not designed to come into contact with any moisture.
Take care not to expose a watch with this rating to any type of moisture.
WATER RESIST Water-resistant to 3 atmospheres (Everyday use water-resistant watch)
Water resistance for daily use (to 3 atmospheres) means the watch is water resistant for occasional accidental splashing.
W. R. 5 bar Water-resistant to 5 atmospheres (Upgraded everyday use waterresistant watch)
Upgraded water-resistance for daily use (to 5 atmospheres) means that the watch may be worn while swimming, but is not to worn while skin diving.
W. R. 10 bar
W. R. 20 bar
Water-resistant to 10 or 20 atmospheres (Upgraded everyday use waterresistant watch)
Upgraded water-resistance for daily use (to 10/20 atmospheres) means that the watch may be worn while skin diving, but not while scuba or saturated diving using helium gas.
DIVER'S 200m
DIVER'S WATCH 200m
Water-resistant watch for SCUBA diving
Watches with this indication are diver watches.
They can be used only for SCUBA diving using an air tank and not for saturation diving using a helium gas tank.
