Type of Warranty
CITIZEN issues the following two types of warranty (either printed, card, or digital).
(1) International warranty
- Places where international warranties are issued
- Authorized retailers (with some exceptions)
- Places where international warranties are accepted

(2) National or regional limited warranties
Warranties may be provided that are limited to a specific country or region.

- Only the country or region stipulated on the national or regional limited warranty

* Some warranties may act both as international warranties and as national or regional limited warranties.
Warranty coverage
- Note the following when seeking coverage in accordance with the provisions of a warranty.

- ・ To be covered by a warranty in the country or region stipulated in a national or regional limited warranty,
you must have either the applicable national or regional limited warranty or an international warranty.
To be covered by a warranty in other countries or regions, you must have an international warranty. If you plan to use your watch in areas not stipulated in the national or regional limited warranty, ask the store to issue you an international warranty when purchasing your watch.
Note that international warranties cannot be issued in some countries or regions. - ・ A Warranty Card will only be valid if it is properly filled out (e.g., date of purchase, name of retailer where watch was purchased, official stamp and/or signature of retailer representative).
- ・ Proof of purchase (delivery slip, receipt, etc.) may also be required. Keep it in a safe place with your warranty.
- ・ To be covered by a warranty in the country or region stipulated in a national or regional limited warranty,
Note that national or regional limited warranties and international warranties cannot be re-issued.
Warranty policy
In cases where a malfunction has occurred during the course of normal use, the watch will be repaired free of charge in accordance with the conditions of the warranty policy below.
(1) International warranty

- The watch is repaired basically using existing parts and part adjustment.
When a part such as the movement, watch case, glass, dial, hand, crown or band is damaged, a spare part with a different appearance or a recycled part compliant with our quality standards may sometimes be used.
The old parts replaced will not be sent back.

- Warranty limitations
- Please note that our free repair service does not cover the following:
- • Replacement of the leather band, plastic band and primary battery (Replacement of the primary battery is fee-based even in the warranty period. As the primary battery in a watch when you purchased it is a monitoring battery for checking functions and performance of the watch before shipping and may run out earlier.)
- • Change of appearance in the course of use (scratch and stain on the glass, case/ band, bracelet, etc.)
- • Malfunction and/or damage caused by the customer’s repair/ tampering, misuse or carelessness,and any previous faulty repairs by unauthorized service centers.
- • Malfunction and/or damage caused by a disaster, fire or accident.
- • Update of information changed after designing the product such as time zone information.
- • Setting information and data stored in a watch or app.
- • Reception problems of GPS satellite signals or time calibration signals and/ or communication problems with a smartphone caused by reception/ communication environment.
- • Malfunctions caused by settings of the smartphone of the customer or other apps.
- • In the event that no warranty (printed, card, or digital) was presented.
- • Deficiency in the Warranty Card (no retailer name and/or no purchase date is written on the Warranty Card or it has been rewritten) or when any other irregularity is suspected.
- Treatment of personal information
- Personal information provided to us will be used only for providing after-sales service.
Please note that we provide the information to our subcontractors and they may use it in the scope of the purpose of use to provide after-sales service.
Personal information protection agreement is concluded between us and our subcontractors in advance and the information is managed appropriately when it is provided to them.
- Retention of repair parts
- CITIZEN routinely holds stock of performance parts for use in repairs for a standard period of 7 years.
When a part such as the movement, watch case, glass, dial, hand, crown or band is damaged, a spare part with different appearance or a recycled part compliant with our quality standards may sometimes be used.
Please bear this in mind.
- Valid repair period
- Depending on the environment or conditions in which the watch was used, repairs may not be possible even within the retention period for repair parts.
For more information on whether your watch can be repaired, refer to the World Wide Service Network and check for your nearest Service Center.
Note also that where precision has degraded due to long-term use, fully restoring the watch to its original precision through repairs may be difficult.
- Other information

- • Owner will be charged for postage, insurance and such costs as may be incurred outside the normal repair costs under the warranty.
- • This policy guarantees free-of-charge repair under the conditions stipulated in the Warranty Card,which does not limit legal rights of the customer.
- • Where the repair and/or shipment of watches is restricted by the local laws and regulations of that country or region, the provision of services as per any warranty may be denied as a result of legal compliance.
- • The applicable warranty provisions may be those determined for each country or region and not the provisions listed on this website.
